Screening Programs
Screening Programs are offered in schools usually in Term 2 or Term 3 of the school year.
The purpose of the screening is to ensure that the child has adequate hearing, vision and motor skills to learn and sufficiently prosper in the school environment. This includes screening of language, speech, mental health, social skills and basic level literacy. Although our primary focus is Prep (Kindergarten) children we often are asked to screen are older children (Grades 1 to 5). A teacher or family referral usually instigates the screening.
The school and family are informed of any difficulties noted and students who require further attention.
